Evolutionary genomics of adaptation and speciation in Galapagos land and marine iguanas
PhD position available: This project provides a unique opportunity to examine adaptation and evolutionary history in an iconic set of species for evolutionary biologists, the marine (Amblyrhynchus cristatus) and land iguanas (Conolophus sp) of the Galapagos archipelago using cutting edge genomic approaches.
We will use de novo sequencing of iguana genomes to give insights into how these taxa evolved, the genetic basis of their unique adaptations, and to gain information which can contribute Galapagos iguana conservation.
Closing date for applications 8th January 2018.
